Kids Club and Snow Explorers is CLOSED for the season.

This is a lesson program which offers skiing and snowboarding instruction for children aged 4-10, of any skill level (snowboarding not available at age 4 & 5). Instructors who love children will help your son or daughter become a better skier or snowboarder in a fun environment.

These lessons are available on Saturdays and Sundays at 9:30, 11:30, & 2:00.   You must sign in at least one hour in advance.

Kid's Club and Snow Explorers Lessons will also be offered at 9:30, 11:30, & 2:00 on the following dates: 12/28, 12/29, 12/30, 12/31, 1/1, President's Day, and MLK Day.

We offer two programs, Kids Club for ages 6-10, and Snow Explorers for ages 4-5 (chairlift will not be used for Snow Explorers).  Either of these can be purchased as a 3 day or 1 day program.

Frequently Asked Questions
When should we plan our trip?

Holidays and weekends are the busiest times for resorts. This goes without saying. Of course, not everyone can take off of work during the middle of the week or any time they want. The best time for your trip is the time that works for you and your kids. If you travel during holiday and weekend times, plan accordingly and allow for a bit longer lines and waits.

What should I expect from my child's lesson?

Do not expect anything but encourage them to go out and have a great time! With kids it is hard to tell what will happen. The most important thing is for your child to have fun and want to participate again. Younger children may have a hard time adjusting at first, especially if they have never been in snow before. They may or may not want to try. That needs to be okay.
Generally, older children are a bit more ready to participate and will at least try. The main thing to remember is you want your child to have fun and stay safe. If your child learns something as well as having fun that is an added bonus. This is a vacation, not a preparation for the Olympics in 2018.

What will my child learn in the lesson?

Depending on which lesson your child is in and how long that lesson lasts, he or she will learn different things.

A young first timer (never ever skied or snowboarded before) may learn how to put on equipment, stand, balance, walk, get up, and glide. Older kids will do all this plus stop,
turn, and perhaps ride a lift depending on the length of the lesson.

A second timer will still be working on stopping while the older kids will typically know most of the above so they will continue to perfect what they have learned. They will work on turning, speed control, and riding/skiing on a little more challenging terrain.

A younger child may take three to four days to be ready to ride a chairlift. Many areas have "magic carpet" lifts, which help to accelerate the learning of young children and reduce the time they have to sidestep up the hill. Older children tend to glide a bit faster and sooner. Their confidence builds with successes and they may be ready for more challenging or even easy intermediate terrain, and for more difficult tasks fairly quickly.

When you do decide to head to the mountains and try snowsports, remember the number one thing that kids need to do is "HAVE FUN". Skiing and snowboarding can be very physically demanding sports for some and for others it will be second nature. If having fun means sliding around for 10 minutes or maybe an hour and then spending the rest of the time making a snowman and sledding, then that should be OK. If your children are fairly athletic and experienced with other sports, then they may end up sliding the entire day and when you pick them up from class, beg for more. Others may be done for the day.
